Education is an environment where technology is only going to increase. Which means more accounts, and more passwords.

And I know many of you are going to say "Oh that's me, I've said that." but I find it amusing when I hear "I just have too many passwords to remember!" Because you say this to someone in IT! We have more passwords for accounts than you have markers in your classroom. Ok maybe not that many but I bet it's close! But how do we manage all these passwords? A password locker.
A password locker, or a password manager, is an application or software that a person or a company uses to securely store a multitude of passwords. Rather than having a smattering of various passwords all over the place, saved or written down in different areas you can find all your passwords in the locker.
I hear you say. "What if someone hacks your one master password and gets into your password locker!? Huh, Sean? What then Mr. IT guy!" First of all, calm down, sheesh. Secondly, password lockers have layers of security to them, starting with encrypting the master password. AES (advanced encryption standard) makes it damn near impossible to decrypt the master password. And even if a hacker did manage to do that, many password lockers keep the passwords partioned off elsewhere.
In addition to that, password lockers almost always offer 2FA (2 Factor Authentication). Just another added bit of security that makes it so that if in the very unlikely case your master password was compromised a hacker still would not get very far.
It's pretty universally agreed upon by security experts that password managers/lockers are secure.

In a growing technological age where more and more and more things require accounts, this means more opportunity to have your personal information stolen.
