About Me
Hey there! My name is Sean, and if you have been working for WSPS for a time you've probably seen me out an about. For those new teachers and staff, or folks just unfamiliar, I'm your IT guy! Well, one of several but I am the one you're likely to see often. I'm one of the technicians that works heavily in the school district addressing your tickets, but I also focus on education and outreach to you the educators and administration.
I started working for the Town of West Springfield in the summer of 2017 right when IT responsibilities moved from the school district to the town. This is my first professional IT job, having come from Verizon Wireless after eight years and a myriad of customer service based jobs before that.
I have a love and a passion for many things under the "nerd" banner! Sci-Fi, Fantasy, comics, books, movies, TV, Dungeons and Dragons, the list goes on. I enjoy being outdoors and have a deep affection for nature.
I love what I do and where I work. A big part of that is the interaction I get to have with all of you on a regular basis. I hope this blog will at the least be of some interest and at the most be genuinely helpful.
So, what's this blog about?
The idea is to take some often heard things that come from IT, and some things that aren't and break it down in an easy to understand way each month. I have to remind myself from time to time that what seems obvious to me, may not be to other people. Sometimes the topics will be short and sweet, others may be more involved, but hopefully they'll all be informative!
Each months blog post will be archived for the year so you can always go back and check them out!
