In the pursuit of giving teachers more classroom control, Classwize introduces Focus Sessions. These sessions allow you to temporarily intensify rule enforcement during critical periods. Basically? Students can't veer off into any other websites than the one you're focusing.
When you set a focus session, everything other than what your "focusing" on stops working. This is especially useful when you want students to follow along with the class and not have the ability to open any other tabs.
To create a focus session, like when creating rules, you must first open your current class that is in session. In the classroom toolbar select Class Tools > Focus.
The window that pops up is similar to when you make a rule, in that the 'focus on' fields allow you type in a website, signature, or a URL.
You can then also check off if you want any of your resources to open in a new tab or not. Then you can click on Start Focus, and guess what? The coolest part is once you start focus, any other tabs a student has open will close, other then the ones you've designated.
