Innovation Pathways students enroll in a series of industry-focused electives that prepare them for a wide variety of careers in the high-demand healthcare and social assistance industry. The Innovation Pathways program has five (5) requirements that must be fulfilled before graduating.
Students must successfully pass two (2) technical classes which include any of the following:
-Childhood Development
-Psychology
-Anatomy & Physiology
Next, students must complete two (2) college-level courses which include any of the following:
-English 101 (STCC or WSU)
-English 102 (STCC or WSU)
-Statistics (STCC or WSU)
-Psychology 101 OR Sociology 101 (STCC or WSU)
-Medical Terminology 100 (STCC)
-Communication & Professionalism in Healthcare 110 (STCC)
Intro to Healthcare Practice 101 (WSU)
Human Biology 102 (WSU)
General Biology 129 (WSU)
-Or any AP courses at WSHS
And finally, the last requirement is to have each student complete a 100-hour internship during their senior year.
