Innovation Pathways students enroll in a series of industry-focused electives that prepare them for a wide variety of careers in the high-demand healthcare and social assistance industry. The Innovation Pathways program has five (5) requirements that must be fulfilled before graduating.
Students must successfully pass three (3) technical classes from West Springfield which include any of the following:
-Anatomy (Any Level)
-Physiology (Any Level)
-Chemistry OR two of the following
---Intro to Psychology
---Intro to Sociology
---Child Development
Next, students must complete two (2) college-level courses which include any of the following:
-AP Biology (WSHS) (Recommended)
-AP English of Choice (WSHS)
-AP Psychology(WSHS)
-English 101 (STCC or WSU)
-English 102 (STCC or WSU)
-Statistics (STCC or WSU)
-Psychology 101 OR Sociology 101 (STCC or WSU)
-Communication & Professionalism in Healthcare 110 (STCC)
And finally, the last requirement is complete either:
-the Healthcare Capstone
-a 100-hour internship in an industry-based setting
