Business & Finance

Innovation Pathways students enroll in a series of industry-focused electives that prepare them for a wide variety of careers in the high-demand business and finance industry. The Innovation Pathways program has five (5) requirements that must be fulfilled before graduation. 

Students must successfully pass two (3) technical classes at West Springfield, from the following choices:

-Intro to Business AND Intro to Economics

-Personal Finance Management AND Accounting

-Third Business Choice of Choice

Next, students must complete two (2) college-level courses which include any of the following:

-AP Business Course of Choice (WSHS) (Recommended)

-AP English of Choice (WSHS)

-AP Psychology (WSHS)

-English 101 (STCC or WSU)

-English 102  (STCC or WSU)

-Statistics (STCC or WSU)

-Psychology 101 OR Sociology 101 (STCC or WSU)

-Principles of Management 101 (STCC)

-Principles of Marketing 101 (STCC)

-Principles of Macroeconomics 101 (WSU)

-Principles of Microeconomics 101 (WSU)

And finally, the last requirement is complete either:

-the Business/Finance Capstone

-a 100-hour internship in an industry-based setting
