The cube root of a number n, is a number that if multiplied three times by itself will equal n. Example: the cube root of 64 is 4, because 4*4*4 is 64.
Cube roots like square roots have key features, includoing the following:
Domain and Range.
Turning point
Point of symmetry
Horizontal and vertical shifts
The parent function of a cube root function is shown as ∛x
Note that if a cube root is done to a negative number like -8, it will NOT result in an imaginary number but it will result in -2.
In a cube root function, the turning point is the point in the center of the function, and the point of symmetry is around the turning point. A cube root has point symmetry.
