They are also expected to attend the Full Coalition Retreat February 12-14th *this is an overnight retreat that starts around 5pm on the 12th and ends around 2pm on the 14th. (for students not wishing to spend the night they can attend the full day on the 13th).
Attend a monthly zoom meeting which is 1.5 hr long (dates TBD).
Applications for this program are due by June 1st!!
I think this program will yield some great opportunities to help students find ways to gather each other together to advocate for forms of change or to help them feel empowered to know ways to interrupt forms of hate they might see others experience, or experience themselves. Develop systems of support for others & themselves, plus many other truly valuable things.
If you are hesitant due to transportation concerns please reach out to myself (annalise.ennis@wsesu.net), andrew.mcphillips@wsesu.net or jaldrich@wsesu.net. There are potentially ways for carpooling amongst students in the Windsor Southeast Supervisor Union, or within our own Mt. Ascutney School district. There could also be other options to help with transportation once the 2026/2027 school year begins.
Please know this program is for ANYONE!! Outright Vermont many goal is to help youth who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community, but they also strongly believe in supporting youth in general. To help them find their voices and give them tools to promote the forms of change they wish to see happen in their world.

The event begins with the opening ceremony beginning at 8:30 in the ABS gym and we plan on ending the ceremonies at 9:15 to get students out to rotate from station to station.

January 29th- Dear ABS families and caregivers
Due to the predicted low temperatures for tomorrow’s ski time, we are asking families to opt in if they would like their child to participate in skiing.
Students who ski will have access to warming breaks throughout the ski period, including time indoors and a fire to help stay warm.
If you prefer that your child not ski tomorrow, they may remain at school with the group that will be staying on campus.
Please email Wendy Russin to let us know whether your child will be skiing tomorrow. If we do not receive confirmation, your child will remain at school. Thank you for your continued support and flexibility.
Please make sure if you opt your child into skiing tomorrow that they have WARM, WARM, WARM Gear!! It is going to be extremely cold.
We have special events/activities that run throughout the school year. This site is meant to keep parents up to date about these activities. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to either myself (Annalise at annalise.ennis@wsesu.net) or call the main office at 802-484-3344.
February 6th is an early release day and the opening of the winter Olympics in Milan. To kick off the Olympic celebration students have teamed up with our PE teacher Ms. Chamber's to develop our own ABS opening ceremony. Students and teachers are still in the planning stage of this event so please check back for more information the closer we come to this date.
Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony at ABS Feburary 6th starting at 9am.
Students have been working hard on developing an open ceremony to kick off the Winter Olympics that will start that evening.
After the opening ceremony finishes students will be broken out into "countries" and will do a rotation through ABS version of the Winter Olympics. This activities will likely be broom hockey/curling, snowball target throwing and other activities still in the planning process.
We also hope to have a fire going for students to roast marshmallows and get warm by.
This will go until 10:30 when activities will come to an end so we can get prepared for our Love Ones Lunch happening that day at 11am.
