Welcome 6th Grade Parents/Families
Congratulations on being a 6th grade parent/guardians. Having once been in your position I know that this transition can be exciting and challenging all at the same time.
This site is set up to help give you information about the transition and opportunities your child might have within our district/supervisory union that is not open to younger students.
Things that are important things for you to know your child can look forward too are;
Shadow days at Windsor Middle School students will have opportunities to go to the Windsor Middle School to meet their future teachers, reconnect & learn from ABS students who are in 7th & 8th grade. It is also an opportunity for them to learn the lay out of the school, how to go through the bigger lunch line, etc. These days generally begin to happen after February vacation.
Fall Connection Day there is general a day in the fall where the 6th grade from Windsor meets up with ABS 6th grade students to start establishing forms of connection with their future classmates. This day is currently TBD.
6th Grade Class trip- nearing 6th grade graduation, students in the 6th grade class will go on a trip that is educational based, but by their choice. Trips from the past have been trampoline parks, muesums, trips to Boston, and sea ports.
Graduation - 6th grade graduation is the time for ABS 6th graders to say good bye to their school communitty and be recorganized for the achievements they've accomplished while at ABS. While also being able reflect on their own personal experiences throughout the years at ABS.

ATTENTION 6th Grade Parents/Guardians:
Students in grade 6th will be going over to Windsor Middle School this coming Wednesday starting from 12pm and will remain in the Windsor Middle School until dismissal time on that day. Students will be transported to the middle school via the school van and a staff members personal vehicle. Students will be expected to find transportation from Windsor either via the Windsor/ABS bus or being picked up at the dismissal time of 2:40pm.
Students who require the bus can grab the Windsor/ABS bus at the end of the day by walking down to the bottom entrance (gym area/lower parking lot). That bus will transport ABS students back into Brownsville where they will be able to board the ABS bus for their transporation home.
Students needing to be picked up can either be picked up in the lower parking lot area off of State Street, or they can be picked up "up top" off of Ascutney Street location at 2:40pm.
Then the following day at 12:30pm we will be transporting 6th grade over to Windsor again to see a play being performed by their middle school peers. The play will be 1pm to 2pm at the latest. Students will be transported to Windsor and back to ABS via the school van and a staff member vehicle.
