This page shows the preparation I completed for my FLEX study shadowing experience. I organized and presented key steps such as writing professional emails, planning my schedule, and eventually observing real veterinary procedures. I completed multiple different forms of assignments with my own creative touch to them.
The Windham Humane Society and the Brattleboro Vet Clinic are the two places i did my shadowing. Putting everything together in the slides helped me reflect on how much progress I made and how important communication skills are in the veterinary field.
Introducing myself to local vets/humane societys
Emailing professionally was a new experience for me, and I wasn’t sure how to approach it at first. Ms.Thielen and I began to draft emails together and make them more formal as we went. It turned out to be very beneficial, I got positive responses, made connections, and was able to move forward with shadowing.
