Projects
My inspiration paper for this project was to educate myself on Lyme Disease, which I have, and make changes that improve my health. I wanted to learn how others I know cope with the symptoms, and the harsh treatments, as well as take action with my health instead of feeling stuck.
Next I completed an annotated bibliography and a research paper. I learned about how Lyme acts when it is in the body, and how one of the medications I've taken, Serrapeptase, combats it. It was frustrating for me to conclude that there is a sheer lack of information surrounding chronic Lyme and the medications provided. Even the websites that my medications came from had inconsistent information about the dosage suggestions.
Similarly to my yoga survey, I found that creating a personal tracking system was the best way to collect data. It covered my symptoms, what medicines I was currently taking at what dose, and additional notes that could impact my health. Looking back, I'm glad that I chose this way of documentation. It proved helpful personally and as a way to express my symptoms to doctors in an organized way.
Reflection
With the few months of tracking, I compiled what I had learned into a reflection piece. I learned many lessons from this project, as it was challenging at times to find answers to my questions. This project helped me realized that I can't control my illness, but I can support my body through movement and nutrition.
