Curriculum

Welcome to Weber School District's English Curriculum Resources!

Weber School District embraces digital learning, teacher driven curriculum, and supporting all students so that they learn at high levels. To that end, our curriculum model embraces teacher choice in data driven assessments.

If you are a Weber School District school teacher, please click on the curriculum area that you are interested in learning about. Each standard is broken into three pages:

  • Common Assessments: This page lists common assessments by grade.
  • Shared Teaching Ideas: This page lists lesson plans, curriculum modules, and training links from WSD ELA Leadership.
  • Shared Resources: Do you have a resource that is helping you to perform better in the classroom? Were you blown away at a recent conference and want to share it with the entire community? Are you looking for resources to help you implement a classroom idea? This page has a submit-able Google Form for curriculum ideas and a searchable document with all submitted ideas.

How should you use SPA?

  • Use as a pre- and post-test (much like SLOs, but with greater potential to give authentic data when used correctly).
  • Use as a standards-based bellringer.
  • Use as a stand-alone assignment to determine real-time mastery.
  • Use as a template to create Core-aligned assessments.
  • Use as a supplement to current curriculum.
  • Use as a common assessment within grade levels.
  • Use as a cross-curricular tool in evaluating similar skills.
