SERVICE HOURS NEEDED FOR NJHS:
Bronze- 20 hour requirement met
Silver- 21-30 hours of service
Gold- 31-40 hours of service
Platinum- 40+ hours of service

STARTING FRIDAY 2/27-5/1--MAP BBQ SALES OPPORTUNITY! SELL SNACKS TO GO TOWARDS OUR MAP CELEBRATION BEFORE SCHOOL TO EARN SERVICE HOURS. THE SIGN UP IS HERE. THE CONTACT TEACHER FOR THIS IS amygrove@wsdr4.org.

*NJHS will be going on a field trip to Discovery Ridge Elementary School on March 5th! Permission slips will be given out at our next meeting, February 24th!
What: NJHS students will participate in The Read Across America Program and read with kindergarten, first, and second grade students.
When: We will meet in Room 801 at 11:45, eat a sack lunch, and leave for Discovery Ridge Elementary around 12:15. We will return to FMS at around 2:15 pm.
How: We will walk to DRE.
Needed that Day: Students need to bring a sack lunch, a book to read to elementary students, and need to be dressed ready to walk to DRE.

You are always encouraged to find service opportunities on your own (or with friends or family) as well. Some possible ideas include volunteering at a shelter, visiting a nursing home, helping a neighbor in need (for free), cleaning up your neighborhood, volunteering at the food pantry, community events, vacation bible school, etc.

positive quotes (Mrs. S saw in another building that NJHS had hung them)
welcome video for incoming 6th graders
videos with study tips/organization for FMS students
welcoming students at walk-about days and helping to show them around
posters giving testing tips (Dr. Greer request)
host world cultures festival at FMS (Dr. Greer idea)
PAW PARADE
Blood Drive- January 27th from 3-6 in the cafe
Parent-Teacher Conferences- guides for parents so they know where to go
Read with kindergartners from DRE
Leader in Me Lesson Presentations
