Dual Enrollment

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have 3.0 cumulative GPA 

• Great option for some; but not for all -- MUST BE GOOD AT TIME MANAGEMENT!!

• For each SCC class you take, you can remove a WSD class from your high school schedule*

• At the end of the semester, SCC will send us your grade for the classes you took; you will not only get college-credit for that course, but we will also award high school credit for the course (100-level courses are not weighted; 200-level are weighted)** 

• Failing or withdrawing from DE courses will affect your high school GPA and may affect your MSHSAA eligibility

• Most take SCC classes online (flexible schedule)

If you choose to take an on-campus class or “remote” Zoom class that meets a specific time, you must pick a class in the afternoon/evening so they do not conflict with your WSD classes

*  SCC courses that are 3-4 credit-hour courses are the equivalent of 0.5 high school credit, and one WSD class can be removed from your schedule; 5-6 credit-hour courses are worth 1.0 credit, and two WSD courses can be removed from your schedule

** The only exception on weighted classes are math classes; College Alg, Trigonometry, Pre-Calc, & Calc are weighted

HOW TO ENROLL

You will need to attend an informational meeting in April if you are interested in doing dual enrollment next year.  I don't know the exact date yet.  This has an explanation of the process that will not begin until AFTER April 1st:

NEW dual enrollment students please check out this Dual Enrollment Slideshow with all of the information you need, including links to required forms. Look at slides 4 and 6 for specific directions.

1. Apply online at www.stchas.edu/apply

2. Pick your classes (see slide show for suggestions on what classes to pick and/or these directions on how to find which classes/sections still have seats available)

3. Fill out Page 2 of the SCC Dual Enrollment Application (you can leave the student number blank if you haven't received your Welcome email yet)

4. Fill out your LHS Dual Enrollment Planning Form

5. Fill out your Transcript Request Form (mark "unofficial" and for college, write "SCC Dual Enrollment" - no address needed)

6. Drop off all 3 forms to the Student Center for processing

7. Pick up your signed SCC Dual Enrollment Application and Unofficial Transcript

8. Email both to dualenroll@stchas.edu

9. Keep checking your SCC Student Email; you will get an email confirmation once you are registered for classes, along with other helpful information (next steps for dual enrollment, campus resources, bill pay information, etc.)
