According to Code.org, Missouri has 10,973 unfilled computing jobs, and we only graduated 1527 computer science majors. Unfortunately, our state does not have set curriculum standards for computer science and does not mandate that high school students take computer science classes. This is alarming because people with computer science degrees top the list of most sought-after graduates! So, what can we do? Encourage your students to learn about coding and make the experience fun and rewarding! We have just the tools for you.

When you're ready to try coding, you or your students can click on any of the tiles on the Symbaloo below to access a coding game or activity. For easy student access, send students to this link: https://www.symbaloo.com/home/mix/coding131. Games vary in difficulty, coding language and topic. If you don't feel comfortable facilitating this activity in your own classroom, schedule a time to come to the library and we'll teach your classes about coding.
