This week, the 1st grade music students began working on a music program for the night of April 22nd. For the next several weeks, we will be using music class time to work on a short program called "Baby Beluga: A Musical Review Featuring Songs By Raffi." With performance being part of the Colorado State music standards, all 1st graders are expected to participate in this program that is on the night of Wednesday, April 22nd at 6:00 pm. That night, students will need to meet in their classrooms at 5:30 pm. If there is a conflict because your child is sick that day, please contact me by email or Parent Square so that an alternate grade can be arranged for your child after the program.
To match our theme of ocean life students will need to wear jeans and the assigned SOLID colored shirt ALL DAY for BOTH the dress rehearsal performance and the night performance for parents. Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Walmart are always a great place to find solid colored t-shirts for a cheap price. Here are the class colors:
Mrs. Jackson’s Class---SOLID LIGHT BLUE SHIRT (no writing or pictures)
Mrs. Johnson’s Class—SOLID ROYAL BLUE SHIRT (no writing or pictures)
Mrs. Solano’s Class—SOLID DARK NAVY BLUE SHIRT (no writing or pictures)
Willing students may be assigned simple speaking parts that consist of one or two sentences that need to be memorized. If your child is selected for a speaking part, it is absolutely imperative that they are present for the concert on the 22nd. Please help your child to memorize their part and perform it with expression. If you have any questions you can email me at fairesc@wsd3.org
