Dammy Ibukun – 6’3’’ Guard; Grade 12. A player whose main prerogative is to fulfill the team goals before he thinks about himself. Highly disciplined player who keeps getting better
Jonathan Ibeanu – 6’6’’ Forward; Grade 12. Definition of “Board Man Gets Paid”. Consistently generates extra possessions for our team by hunting offensive and defensive rebounds.
Philip Hizon – 5’8’’ Guard; Grade 12. Very nifty point guard who clearly has an eye for putting the basketball in the pockets it needs to be in. This either could be creating for himself, or using that gravity to create for his teammates.
Umar Faraz – 6’1’’ Guard; Grade 12. A force to be reckoned with. Easily the strongest player on the team, which is “rare” at the guard spot. Has used this strength to develop a playstyle that makes him tough to keep out of the paint, which then frees up his perimeter game.
Joshua Izokun – 6’0’’ Guard; Grade 11. Dynamic point guard who has a knack for keeping the offense at the pace it needs to operate at.
Vincent Obiekwe – 6’5’’ Forward; Grade 11. High motor and high energy player who is a force to be reckoned with in the paint. Plays both sides of the ball with discipline as well.
Omar Essam – 6’2’’ Guard; Grade 11. “Swiss army knife” – solid & strong enough to compete with bigger players in the paint, while still being mobile and savvy enough to play really well at the guard spot.
Offensively, our goal is to play a brand of basketball that relies on IQ and togetherness. We believe the combination of those 2 aspects helps us strive towards our goal of being a step in front of the opposition as often as possible. This applies to our offensive concepts which are ball-movement-heavy and require all players to know what advantages to look for, as well as defensive concepts which require us to be in sync with one another’s reactions to the opposition’s offense.
This year:
Continue building a good foundation for the future of PTC basketball, seeing as though this is only our 3rd season in existence.
Compete well enough in the league to earn a trip to provincials and see how far we can go from there.
Last year:
Completed our 1st season competing in Tier 1, and saw the level that we need to aspire to reach to remain competitive in this league.
