Arkansas Early Childhood Behavior Support Portal. Early childhood education in Arkansas is a collaborative effort of many unique programs, agencies, and guidelines. These agencies share the combined mindset that social emotional learning is essential to the development of our young children. Social emotional learning consists of a child's ability to identify, manage, and express emotions. This site combines the social, emotional and behavioral knowledge and resources provided through many local agencies in an effort to create a comprehensive reflection point for all early childhood educators within our state.
The 6 hour-course series is based on the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning TeachingPyramidModel for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children. The courses are appropriate for caregivers of infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
The National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations (NCPMI) is funded by the Office of Special Education Programs provides all its services with the goal of promoting the positive social, emotional and behavioral outcomes of young children (birth through five), reducing the use of inappropriate discipline practices, increasing the inclusion and ongoing participation of young children with disabilities in early childhood settings, and the promotion of family engagement. NCPMI provides support in implementing the Pyramid Model framework with fidelity through: practical guidance, professional development materials and trainings, tools and informational resources, technical assistance partnerships for targeted state needs for pyramid model implementation within inclusive programs, intensive technical assistance partnerships to build state and local capacity for Pyramid Model implementation and scale-up within inclusive programs.

The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) is focused on promoting the social emotional development and school readiness of young children birth to age 5. CSEFEL is a national resource center funded by the Office of Head Start and Child Care Bureau for disseminating research and evidence-based practices to early childhood programs across the country.

TIPS is dedicated to improving the outcomes for children in school and in life. TIPS offers useful, practical information that leads to successful outcomes for children.
More than 10,000 children in Arkansas are exposed to physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, sexual exploitation, or abandonment every year. These cases of maltreatment can result in trauma. ARBEST’s Mission is to improve outcomes for traumatized children and their families in Arkansas through excellence in clinical care, training, advocacy, and research.
The UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine (DFPM). The Research and Evaluation Division specializes in early childhood development and has many projects to train child-care providers. Each division plays a valuable role in educating future physicians, current physicians, and other health care professionals in Arkansas and beyond.
