The AIR Program serves many students in the WRSD, but is open to anyone who is interested in pursuing musical study, regardless of age or hometown!
The Artist-In-Residence (AIR) Program is designed to offer private music instruction that is convenient and affordable.
Our lessons are taught weekly at Wachusett Regional High School in our music department practice rooms. All teachers who teach through our program are fingerprinted and CORI'd, as well as being active musicians in the community.

Songwriting Class
In this creative and collaborative class, we’ll work as a group to write an original song from start to finish. Students will learn essential skills (lyrics, melody, structure, and storytelling) through a guided, hands-on process that blends instruction with group creativity. By the end of the session, we’ll have a finished song to share and a solid foundation for future writing projects.
Skill level: Beginner-friendly (no prior songwriting experience required)
Materials: Notebook, pencil, and (optional) instrument or voice
Practice/Homework: Light; mainly brainstorming ideas between sessions
