Ms. Nichols' Kindergarten Page

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Kindergarten is such a vital part of the rest of your child’s education. As we set off on this journey of reading, writing, math, exploration and experimentation, we invite you to take an active role.  With parents as partners, our students can accomplish great things!

Kindergarten Supply List

If you are able to bring these supplies on Drop In Day, that would be most helpful.

Return Daily

Your child has received a blue Naquag folder so that notes and important papers can safely be send to and from school. This folder will go back and forth between home and school on a daily basis. Make sure to check your child's folder daily for any important information that may have been sent home. Then place any returning forms or notes back in the folder and we will check them in the morning.

Lunch

11:00-11:25

Snack

1:30-1:45

The children have an afternoon snack each day.  Please send in a small healthy PEANUT FREE snack and drink/water bottle. Our kindergarten students sometimes forget to save a snack when they  bring lunch from home. Please label their snack with an “S” to help remind them.

Please note: Peanut products can be sent for lunch. We have a Peanut Free area set aside in our cafeteria. This is more difficult to do in the classroom so we kindly ask that you not send snacks containing peanuts/peanut butter.

Gym

Specials (Art, Music, & Gym): 12:45-1:30

Please make sure your child wears sneakers on gym days so that they can safely participate in the fun activities and games. See Special Schedule on the Schedule page or in the back of your child's Naquag Folder.

Water Bottle

Please send in a bottle of water everyday incase your child gets thirsty. This is especially important on Gym days. Bubblers/drinking fountains are closed however, we do have water bottle filling stations in case the students need to refill their bottles.

Snow Gear

When winter snow arrives don’t forget to send in winter gear so we can play in the snow at recess. Students must have winter boots, snow pants, hat/hood, mittens/gloves, and a winter coat to play in the snow at school. If they don’t have all five things they will have to stay on the black top.

PLEASE SEND IN SHOES! Boots get wet, and are difficult to sit on the floor in and walk in all day.

Students are welcome to keep their snow gear at school so they don’t have to lug it to and from school everyday. Let us know if you would like to keep it here, and if you would like it sent home on Fridays.

Thank you!
