Please note that transportation and snacks are not provided. Play in the Park does not provide childcare and children who participate must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
Play in the Park (PiP) has been running since 2015 and is a free drop-in recreation and art program for children 3-13+ years of age and is supported by the City of Wetaskiwin Recreation Department. This program will be facilitated by youth leaders and supervised by the City of Wetaskiwin and WRPS Wellness Support Team staff. Activities may include sports, fun challenges, large-scale games, arts, crafts, and more!
Play in the Park also offers leadership opportunities for teens aged 13+ to gain leadership experience, work on job-related skills, and spend the summer outdoors with us!
Why Play in the Park?
Play in the Park allows kids and teens to practice skills that we know can impact their mental health in a positive way. It gives them opportunities to socialize with kids of other ages, encourages them to get outside and explore new outdoor spaces in our communities, and also allows them to work on gross and fine motor skills through crafts and play. All of these tied together help participants grow into healthy, confident, and happy kids!
