Moving forward, it is essential that students learn to think about number relationships multiplicatively! First, they need to develop fact fluency so they can think about number relationships. Regular opportunities are needed throughout the year (including as a Minds On in Tier 3 interventions) to practice fluency through count- arounds, fluency games and number strings.
Students need practice working with different tools and models (such as the ones included in these problem sets) to allow them to choose the ones that
makes the most sense to them
