Encourage students to use what they know to figure out what they do not yet know. For example, If they know that two 2s is 4 then four 2s would be double 4.
Similarly encourage students to use tools like arrays and number lines to work through their answers and prove their thinking.
Embed the language of doubling and halfing where ever posible to number reslaionships and fractional understanding
