Equality brings together many numeracy concepts taught throughout the year (e.g., Number Sense, Addition/Subtraction, etc.).
A strong understanding of the meaning of the equals sign is necessary (e.g., it does not just mean "the answer is coming", instead it means balance/same quantity on both sides of the = sign).
