CLU3MI, Understanding Canadian Law

Come explore Canadian law with a focus on legal issues that are relevant to your everyday life. Students will investigate fundamental legal concepts and processes to gain a practical understanding of Canada’s legal system, including the criminal justice system. Students will use critical-thinking, inquiry, and communication skills to develop informed opinions on legal issues and apply this knowledge in a variety of ways and settings, including case analysis, legal research projects, mock trials, and debates. The focus of this course is on criminal law including law enforcement processes (investigation, arrest and detainment) and courtroom procedures (trial preparation, jury selection, legal defenses and sentencing).

Why do we buy the products and services that we do? This course seeks to answer this question through the fundamental concepts of marketing, specifically product, price, place and promotion. In this course you will learn about the marketing activities/strategies used by the best in the business and put them to use in your own marketing plan.  

While coded as grade 12 courses, many students take these courses in their grade 11 year.
