Explore the creative possibilities of digital art, photography, and graphic design! Students will learn creative photography, digital editing, and image manipulation techniques while developing their own digital artwork. They will experiment with combining traditional and digital media and explore how text, imagery, and design can work together to communicate ideas.
Students will develop a strong understanding of the elements and principles of design, composition, and graphic design principles, applying these skills to a variety of creative projects. Come ready to experiment with technology, transform your ideas, and discover new ways to create and communicate through art!

UNIT #1: PHOTOGRAPHY
UNIT #1: PHOTOGRAPHY
Students will be introduced to the basics of photography. They will learn about camera settings and functions and how to adjust these settings to capture a well exposed photograph. They will also be taught framing techniques and compositional rules to improve the quality and creativity of their photos.
UNIT #2: DIGITAL CREATION & MANIPULATION
UNIT #2: DIGITAL CREATION & MANIPULATION
Students will be introduced to photo editing using Adobe Lightroom. They will also be introduced to Adobe Photoshop for more advanced photo manipulation. Creative assignments include digital mash-ups, spot colour photography and merging drawings with photographs.

Students will be introduced to graphic design and typography concepts. They will explore current trends in graphic design, and learn to apply the basic rules of effective layout and design
