We found this activity from Sugar Spice & Glitter. Encourage your child to carefully pull apart or cut off each part of the flower. Talk about what they are noticing and encourage your child to ask questions. Do some research together to figure out what each part of the flower does.

Fill a large container, or your sink or bathtub, halfway with water. Collect items from around your house that you would like to test. Add items one at a time to see if they will sink or float. Try making a prediction before testing the item. As an extension, try drawing or writing about your results.
Demonstrate “change of state” by melting ice with salt. Fill a container with water, and let it freeze overnight. Add a few drops of liquid water color if you want to color your ice. Remove the ice from the bowl and place on a tray. Simply shake table salt over the ice and watch the magic happen. Talk about what you are seeing and noticing.
