The purpose of this project is to paint with six different watercolour techniques and to practise mixing tertiary colours.
Before you start the watercolour still life project, you will complete the following exercise in class:
Step 1: Mark out a grid of six squares on a sheet of watercolour paper
Step 2: Write your name and class on the back
Step 3: Label each section in with a different watercolour technique
Step 4: Fill in each section with a different technique
Step 1: Divide your paper into six equal sections
Step 2: Draw a bug that fills up the entire page
Step 3: Tape your paper down to cardboard
Step 4: Fill in one section with a cross hatching painting technique
Step 5: Fill in another section with a scumbling paining technique
Step 6: Fill in another section with a wat in wet technique
Step 7: Fill in another section with a dry brush technique
Step 8: Fill in another section with a salt technique
Step 9: Fill in another section and use a lifting colour technique
Step 10: Add a sharpie outline and take off tape
