Purpose

To show an understanding of complementary colour schemes.

To create a unique watercolour painting.

Project Steps

Step 1: Divide your paper into four even squares

Step 2: Paint in your first complementary colour

Step 3: Add in more colours and details

Step 4: Fill in the background of each square with your second complementary colour

Rubric

What is a complementary colour? Complementary colours are pairs of colours that contrast with each other more than any other colour, and when placed side-by-side make each other look brighter. Complementary colours are across from each other on the colour wheel.

So for example, red and green are complementary colours.
