We have been working on a shared understanding of learning which comprises not only content but also skills and strategies that students need to practice and master in order to be active learners. The Instructional Leadership Team, comprised of Department Leaders and Curriculum Coordinator and Administrators, works on this evolving understanding, which is then shared with teachers.
What structures are in place in the school to support the school's organizational learning and continuous growth? PLCs, District strategic plans, School Improvement Plans, PD plans, time built-in for faculty collaboration, evaluation protocol/tools, and protocols for learning walks are structures in place that support the school's organizational learning and continuous growth.
How does the culture of the school promote continuous growth and learning for both adults and students?
Teachers engage in multiple opportunities to grow their own learning - in all the ways mentioned above. This serves as a model for lifelong learning and growth for our students and school community, We also have an active Parent University that helps our families to grow and develop their understanding of and engagement in learning opportunities.
