Walton School Volunteers
We continue to seek parents and community members who are willing to devote time each week to helping at Walton, especially those with prior experience working with children. Our main area of need at the moment is assisting in the cafeteria from 11:15-1:00 on Mondays, and 11:15-11:50 on Tuesdays. If you might be interested in volunteering, please complete this form. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Costume Parade Plans
Each year, we host a fall costume parade at Walton. Students are welcome to wear a school appropriate costume to school. The plan this year will look a bit different than in past years. On 10/31, which is an early release day for students, we will have our costume parade at 11:25am. Instead of doing the parade in the circle, we will do one big loop around the school, going left out the main entrance all the way around to the Western Ave. door. We encourage family members to
come watch the parade from anywhere outside the school. Also, if you would prefer that your child not participate in this activity for any reason, please reach out to let us know. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
Spirit Week
This week we will celebrate spirit week at Walton. Please see this flyer for information about how to participate.
Veteran’s Day Plans
We will have a Veteran’s Day assembly as a school on November 17th. The purpose of the assembly is to educate students about the significance of Veteran’s Day and why we pay respect to those who have served our country in the armed services. This year, Walton parent, Sergeant Major Christopher W. Olsen, will be meeting with our student council representatives to answer questions about Veteran’s Day and share about his experience in the Army and Army National Guard. Student council representatives will use information from the interview to present about Veteran’s Day to our school at the assembly. We are grateful to Chris for his service, and for visiting with our students to share about his experience!
