CURRICULUM
At Galvin Middle School, all students will take Health during their 5th, 7th, and 8th grade years. Students will also be enrolled in Physical Education for all four years at Galvin.
All WMHS students are required two years of Health (semester-long classes) and four years of Wellness (semester-long classes). Each student will take Health 9 and Health 10 to fulfill their health credit requirements the first two years of high school.
For Wellness, all freshmen students will take Wellness 1 in their first year of high school. Starting as a sophomore and carrying through senior year, students will be able to choose which class they take to fulfill their yearly Wellness requirement.
Sophomores can choose from Wellness 1 (again), Strength & Conditioning 1, or Yoga & Mindfulness 1
Juniors and Seniors can choose from Wellness 2, Strength & Conditioning 1 or 2, Yoga & Mindfulness 1 or 2, Leadership & Team Sports, Project Adventure, or Health Science & Sport Psychology
Child Development does not fulfill a Health or Wellness graduation requirement. It is a separate elective that can be taken as a full-year course for 5 credits.
