We have been learning about digital art. We have been using loads of digital tools including Sketchpad, a website where you can draw things and save your images. There is also Giphy, where you can use the images that you drew on Sketchpad and Silk. Silk is like Spirograph but you can turn off the mirroring and just draw. Kara (who is really good at making digital art) from Ohu Effects gave us inspiration. She worked on many movies (including Lord of the Rings and King Kong) and taught us the meaning of collaboration. We now know how important it is to work with other people and how much faster it is to work with others - Mae S, Anastasiya S and Sabine M
My first animation is of a flower growing. I was inspired by nature, what plants need to grow, and also my rain animation, so I made an animation of a flower growing, with the sounds of bird tweets in the background. My second animation is of rain falling to the ground, with the sounds of splashing water in the background. It is similar to my flower animation because the rain helps the flower grow! My third animation is of clouds and lightning, I was inspired by the rain and the flower and also different kinds of weather. My last animation is of a cluster of stars, forming together to make a black dot (possibly a black hole) then turning into the sun! I was inspired by space and the planets for this one, unlike the others, and also star clusters/constellations, and the big bang! - Raffy K
We tried to portray plant life and how it works because we think it is important to our lives and it is an interesting subject. Our inspiration for our artwork was Len Lye and Semiconductor. We used FlipAnim and GarageBand to make our animations. We actually have a strategy by making an animation and then adding the audio and then adding the animation and then adding the audio and so on. We have had a few challenges like trying to find ideas to portray because since we have done quite a few we had ran out of inspiration! - Katherine P, Cleo S, Evie R, Emelia K (KCEE Animations)
My inspiration is Semiconductor. My artwork is about trees growing and seeds living up to their dreams. Also water dripping from the sky. You might feel it saying that environment matters a lot, and to destroy it like chopping down trees is bad and you should take in what it might look like, or what the consequences of losing it will be. It justifies that you should leave the tree(s) alone until they get rotten or old, then you can take advantage of it. But it is not healthy, nice or good to chop down or destroy nature because that's not doing it a favour back for letting us survive! - Leo N
My artwork is trying to show growth and how rain and sun helps a tiny seed grow. I enjoy showing it in a slow-moving way because then you can capture every little bit. I like showing a life-cycle of a small seed but I only have one because I have been helping others do their Audio. I also made several Silk creations - Solly Y
My inspiration is Len Lye and Semiconductor. I’ve portrayed space with supernovas and how the universe formed. I've also made animations about growth and nature. I’ve used Sketchpad, Giphy, and Silk. I make a series of pictures on Silk/Sketchpad and then upload them to Giphy. On Silk, I made a supernova. On Sketchpad I made a flower growing with the sound of rain in the audio. I also made the planets appearing one by one, with a beat that matched pretty well. I also made some water sliding down a rocky hill and forming a pond. I’m focusing on adding found sounds for my visual and not using loops. I’ve also used GarageBand to make my audio. I’ve added sounds of water rushing and trees swaying (that was hard to record) I hope the art celebration will be fun! - Fülöp N
