Inaccessible places, Improbable Creatures
Jules Siegel composed this work in the early 1990's. It is conceived as orchestral music, though it was realized electronically, using score entry software that he wrote himself. He made good use of the Electronic medium for what it was, not attempting to imitate the sound of an orchestra.
Jules Siegel used Harmonics 16-32 of the Natural Harmonic Series as a musical scale, with each identity of the series functioning as a possible new key center.
He corresponded regularly with Denny Genovese, participating in the research and development aspect of the World Harmony Project.
Book: The Reawakening of Harmony by Jules Siegel
Jules Siegel was a database programmer by day and a musician by night. He had a special love of renaissance and early music and was an accomplished bass player in those genres. His love of music, his programming skills and his out-of-the-box thinking combined to give him unique tools as a microtonalist. He devised his own tuning system and created a collection of musical pieces that illustrated his musical explorations. He died far too early and left a legacy which can be enjoyed here.
