FINAL REMINDERS

Jerseys & Check-in

Jerseys will be available for pick-up at the WATL booth starting at 3PM Thursday. Due to past events, we recommend bringing a backup jersey in case there is an issue with your WAKTC order. If your jersey is incorrect or missing, you may wear a past event jersey, a venue or sponsor t-shirt, or receive one of the following for free to wear (while supplies last): PBR jersey, event t-shirt, or generic WAKTC jersey.

All axes and knives used in official competition* must be legal and inspected by our team. Equipment checks will be done at check-in when throwers pick up their jersey or anytime before their first match at the WATL booth. All axes/knives that meet spec will be marked with an event-specific sticker, which must remain on the axe/knife for the entirety of the official competition.
It is highly recommended that throwers check the specs of their axes (especially big axe weights) before competition!
*As an unofficial competition, Big Axe Duals will be more flexible with weight restrictions. Stock axes meeting all other requirements and falling within ¼ lb of the minimum weight will be allowed for competition.

Wristbands

All throwers will receive BLUE wristbands to be worn for the ENTIRE event. The blue wristband will allow you access to:

If you have family, friends, venue owner, or other members of the community traveling with you who are not competing, they will get GREEN wristbands that will allow them access to:

EVERYONE needs a wristband! Make sure to stop by the WATL booth to pick them up for anyone traveling with you; just tell them how many you need. Volunteers and judges will receive BLUE wristbands to allow them access to competition/vendor areas, as well as specific badges to get them into the staff and volunteer areas.

Outside Food & Drink

No outside food is allowed except for small snacks (granola bars, chips, etc). Refillable water bottles are allowed and there are bottle filling stations around the venue. No other food or drinks are allowed inside the building. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL ALLOWED! The concessions and restaurant will be selling food, beverages, and alcohol throughout the weekend.

Brackets

Brackets are live! There has been a small change in the bracket schedule. We will be running 2 brackets for all disciplines except Hatchet, which will run 4. Make sure to confirm the schedule for your report times.

BRACKET ASSIGNMENTS WILL NOT CHANGE. Should there be any final dropouts, individual brackets may be reseeded to avoid ghost matches, but throwers will not move brackets.

Locker Rooms

There will be locker rooms available for throwers to store their belongings. Only throwers will be allowed in these areas with their blue wristbands. WATL is not liable for any damaged or missing property left unattended.

ESPN Tickets

ALL THROWERS, JUDGES, and VOLUNTEERS will get into the ESPN finals for free. This is not just the ESPN finalists, but any competitor from the entire event. All other spectators will be required to purchase a ticket for the ESPN finals. When purchasing tickets, choose the red "Seated GA" tickets listed for $50. The “Stadium Seating” and “Mezzanine” tickets will NOT get you into ESPN! These tickets for Thursday-Saturday are for the local public, not the axe/knife throwing community which will receive wristbands for free entry Thurs-Sat (see above).

Vendor Market

Don't miss out on the vendor market! All vendors will be upstairs on the mezzanine above the east rink. You can find our community groups and the barber near the arcade and all of our amazing vendors and Craftsman down the mezzanine hallway on the right side of the rink.

Rules to Remember

Got Wood Axe Trailer

The Got Wood trailer will be on-site in the parking lot throughout the weekend. The trailer is for the public only and competitors may not use it to practice during the competition.

Live Stream

Unfortunately, we will not have an official WAKTC live stream this year. We encourage anyone livestreaming matches from their phone to stream them directly into the World Axe Throwing League Discussion Group (not the WAKTC specific group!) for everyone at home to easily find and watch. Tag all of your livestreams with #WAKTCstream for easy searching.
