“Organizing is a journey, not a destination.”
Organization is a never-ending challenge. You need to just accept this concept. You can’t just organize once and forget it. The clutter and jumbled papers and handouts creep back in scattered and random ways.
Yes. There are students that can organize their binders and folders and then just keep it that way. But those students are NOT the majority. If you are one of those students, that is awesome! But most of us have to continually work at it. This includes both class materials and your space where you work at home.
Have you ever had an assignment due that you KNOW you did but when it was time to turn it in, you couldn’t find it? Many, many missing assignments are due to a lack of organization.
This page will help you to get organized and tackle any disorder or mess that may inhabit both your binders, backpacks and home study environment.
You WILL feel better and have a sense of accomplishment once you have established an organization system.

Take out a binder from your school bag/backpack. Also keep your school bag/backpack close by for analysis.

After you complete the “Binder and School Bag/Backpack Analysis”, It’s time to sort and categorize. This will probably take some time. Do not attempt this task with only five or ten minutes. do this when you can dedicate an hours or so to complete the activity.
If you look at the top students in any academic environment, you will find the commonality is that they ALL use daily planners. Now that you know why they are so important, it’s time to choose one.
You may use one already. FANTASTIC! Keep it up. You may use one provided by your school, but there are lots of different options available.
How do you keep track of your homework? Do you have a daily written planner? Do you use an online app? Do you use just your memory? Do you rely on Teacher websites?
Daily planners are SUPER important for time management, but there are actually psychological reasons for using a planner. Please go to the online article and answer the questions in your Guided Notes. Put answers into your OWN words. DO NOT copy and paste the answer from the article.
