Procrastination is not just a student thing….even teachers get are afflicted by it. BUT - teachers have learned how to move past procrastination and get things done. Now you need to do the same. For some people, sometimes, it is caused by perfectionism.
The #1 reason for procrastination is . . . wait for is . . . "I don't feel like it."
We all don’t feel like doing things. As teachers, we don’t always feel like grading papers, or making dinner, or doing laundry. But, we do it anyway. We have to. You need to develop that mindset as well.
You need to think . . . "I don't feel like it - but I'm going to do it anyway."
There is no such thing as being motivated to do homework. You can’t say to yourself, “Once I get motivated, I will start my homework.”
Newsflash - - - You won’t EVER be motivated to do your homework.
So….it isn’t motivation...it’s self discipline. You have to just throw yourself into your homework whether you feel like it or not.
