Notre Dame de Namur University

University of New Mexico

I am a Bay Area native, born and raised in San Carlos. I attended Cañada College before receiving my B.A. in Archaeology with a minor in History from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. During my time as an undergrad I was able to take part in various research projects including paleoethnobotany analysis of plant samples from Baja California, prehistoric burial site excavations in Sacramento, and pyramid structure excavation in the jungles of Belize.

I moved back to California in 2015 and received my single-subject Social Studies credential from Notre Dame de Namur University. During the credential program, I was fortunate enough to student teach in both middle and high school settings, which has helped me further develop my understanding of the skills students need to focus on to better prepare them for high school and beyond.

When I am not on campus you'll likely find me rock climbing, biking, or trying out as many new restaurants in the Bay Area as possible.

I believe in making learning accessible and engaging. Every individual has their own unique interests, perspectives, and needs. Communication between myself, the students, and their families will be key in helping to create a positive and effective learning environment. My goal for my classroom is to create a space where students can interact with the content and understand how their own lives have been shaped by the past.
