TEMPO

TEMPO, or The Educational Music Patrons of Woodland, is a non-profit organization that supports, through both finances and volunteer efforts, the music programs in Woodland Public Schools. Over the years, TEMPO has raised monies and volunteered time to Woodland Primary, Intermediate, Middle and High Schools for the purpose of growing and advocating for music in Woodland. TEMPO is always looking for new volunteers and members. Woodland Tempo Scholarship:

Every year, TEMPO awards one or two $500 scholarships for a graduating senior that has been active in the high school music program for 4 years. These generous awards have helped many a student pay for text books and other potentially expensive materials at the post-secondary level of education.

Criteria

TEMPO Scholarship Requirements:

At the time of graduation, applicant must have completed 4 years of music at Woodland High School from classes such as Choir, Jazz Choir, Guitar, Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble. A student transferring into Woodland High School from another high school may apply years of service at the prior institution to those earned at WHS.

Applicant must be a graduating senior.

At the time of graduation, the applicant must be accepted by a two or four-year university, college, or trade school.

Applicant must have an accumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5

Additional Essay not to exceed 500 words: “How has music added to your life and how do you see it influencing your future?”
