Practice Rules

1. Assist in setting up and taking down equipment as well as cleaning up the gym when necessary.

  • This means arriving 15 minutes before the start of practice to allow time for putting on gear and setting up equipment before practice begins.
  • As soon as school is dismissed, players are expected to immediately report to the locker room to change for practice and help set up equipment.

2. Be on time. There is a penalty for being late.

  • For every minute a player is late to practice, she will have to run a sprint after practice.
  • This includes the 15 minutes players are to arrive before the start of practice to help set up. In short, if you are 14 minutes early for practice, you are 1 minute late and owe 1 sprint after practice.

3. Players are to refrain from actions which will cause “drama” on the team.

  • Players choosing to display actions and attitudes which do not promote a positive playing environment may be told to sit out during practice.

4. Players are to wear t-shirts and spandex shorts.

  • Cut offs and tank tops are strictly prohibited.
  • Players may wear other shorts over top their spandex shorts if desired.

5. Players must remove all jewelry for practices.

  • This includes but is not limited to earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. The no jewelry policy is one created by KHSAA in an effort to prevent injuries and enforced during all high matches.
  • Band-aids may be worn over new piercings only although plastic stoppers are preferred. Band-aids must be provided by the player. Players who do not bring band-aids must remove their jewelry as band-aids will not be provided by the coaching or training staff.

6. Practices are closed to parents and the general public.
