Welcome back to school! I hope you had an enjoyable summer. I am so excited to have your child in my class this year! We are off to a great start with learning routines and building our classroom community. Students are getting adjusted to waking up early and becoming acclimated to being in school again. They were showing signs of exhaustion today, just in time for the weekend, so they can rest up. I am so fortunate to have a wonderful group of children!
Students completed their Fall NWEA testing and have a few more assessments to take. These assessments are important as they provide a baseline for instruction.
Your child has a home binder that includes pockets labeled return to school, leave at home, and homework. This binder also includes their agenda and a list of websites with usernames and passwords. Your child is expected to bring this binder to school and home EVERY DAY. This will hopefully eliminate loose papers. Students have been doing a GREAT job with this so far!!
Homework will be assigned next week. A packet will be sent home on Mondays and due on Fridays. When students return their homework on Fridays, they add a marble to the class jar.
Sending a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who donated supplies to the classroom! Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
Please return the beginning of the school year paperwork as soon as possible so we can update our information. If you have already done so, thank you!!
