Things to know for art class

We will be creating many different projects this school year but there are a few supplies that you should always have on hand:

-paper

-pencil

-eraser

-coloring supplies (crayons, colored pencils, markers, oil pastels)

Every art class day we will:

1) Go to our Google Art Class and enter our Google Meetup

2) Take quick attendance so we can...

3) Discuss the day's project, maybe visit website and read articles and look at some artwork that is related to that day's work!

4) Work on our project (some will take more than one week to complete)

5) Sign out at least 5 minutes before the end of class to give you a chance to get to your next class on time.

We are going to learn SO MUCH this year in art class! We will learn about the basic elements of art, different artists, materials and techniques, finding out how art can play a role in other subjects, seeing the art that exists around us and learning to appreciate and have fun with art!

This website will have everything you need to know for class. I'll have your project listed here under your grade level, important and fun websites, information about many different artists and art terms, along with a "How to Videos!" page that has videos that could answer some common questions and problems!

I know you have been hearing this a lot but this year is going to be very different. Even with all the differences, many things are going to be the same. When you are in school you are expected to get to class on time, be prepared, not yell out, to not be mean to other and to try your best! If we can follow all those guidelines I know we will have a wonderful and fun year learning art together!
