To make 10 different blankets there is a variety of lengths to be cut. This lady was nice enough to cut all of my fabric and felt. She even gave me some good tips of what to do with the fabric and which sewing methods work the best.
This lady was nice enough to give me lots of discounts on my purchases. I was able to chose 3 different colors of the baby quilting fabric. I also chose a tan fleece to make it soft. Finally, for the heads I used 3 different colors of felt.
Here is a video of me using a machine on my first go. My mum is helping me because my sewing machine skills were a bit rusty, since I hadn't used them in a while. It is a time lapse to show all of the steps in one quick and easy video.
I hand made a note and I did the same one for each. If you can't read it, it is says, "I am here to keep you safe, to cuddle you in whatever place. Please take care of me, and hopefully, we will tend, to be good friends.
I created personal tags for each sloth the child receives. This is a personal touch to make the sloths seem more real and like they are a real support.
I hand drew this design in the shape of a circle. I had the tech teacher laser cut them so I could put them each of them inside of a blanket. When the children open up the blanket, they reveal a laser cut circle telling them the sloth will help them.
