What You Can Find Here

Autism Research Projects

A big part of being in BATS is working with the classroom staff and BCBA supervisors at the practicum site to program for students in the early intervention classroom. With this, each Master's student completes an autism project and then presents a poster on it at the Behavior Analysis Association of Michigan conference in Ypsilanti as well as at the end of the last semester at Western Michigan University.

Self Management Projects

Those in behavior analysis tend to do a pretty great job working with contingencies around other people's behavior, but not so much when it comes to their own. So we implement self management techniques! Click the button below to take a look at some of the self management projects of BATS masters students.

What Is BATS?

The Behavior Analysis Training System (BATS) is a part of the psychology department at Western Michigan University, under the advisory of Dr. Richard Malott that focuses on spreading behavior analysis anywhere possible.

Training under Malott gives students a well-rounded experience in not only behavior analysis but also in organizational behavior management [OBM]. Each master level student must complete an OBM and Autism project during the program. Although his purpose is to train behavior analysts to be practitioners, his students also get experience conducting research through their autism projects.
