You can access Teams by visiting www.office.com and sign in using your college email. Once you log in you will see various apps and one of them is the Teams. To start using it click on it and it will open in a new tab. See these instructions on how to use your college email.
You can also install Teams on your smartphone as an app, simply go to Google Play or App Store depending if you are using an Android phone or an iPhone, search for Microsoft Teams, install it, and log in with your college email and password.
