We will again use Milesplit for our home meets this year. Due to the facility improvements taking place this summer, our "normal" home meet schedule is curtailed a bit in 2022. Meet info will be filled in as we get closer to meet day.
April 25--Viking Quad--Part 3 (heat sheets)
LAA COACHES: Note some changes made to the meet this year.
All running events now allow two entries per event.
Individual entry limit...3 running events and 1 field event (this may not be a change...can't remember).
1/4" spikes are allowed (this may not be change...can't remember).
All events will be scored 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
High Jump (biggest changes)
We will run three separate competitions (meaning Class C will compete, then Class B, then Class A). Girls and boys will continue to jump separately.
NFHS rules on attempts...3 consecutive misses will end an athlete's competition (unless a jump-off is needed).
Athletes may pass at any height (meaning athletes/coaches should know at what height they wish to begin competing).
Limit of 3 run-throughs at any one attempt...if no jump is attempted after the 3rd run-through it will be counted as a miss.
Class C High Jump will begin at 9:30 am...Class B will start 15 minutes after Class C ends...Class A will start 15 minutes after Class B ends.
Boys will throw the 4 kg shot. Girls will throw the 6 lb shot. This now aligns us with NFHS and LSA State Meet rules.
Discus will be added as an event in 2023. Boys and girls will both throw the 1K disc. This will align us with LSA State Meet rules.
