Homework Policy:
Homework is expected to be turned in upon arrival to each class period. Assignments turned in one day late will have a 10% deduction, two days late will have a 20% deduction, and three or more days late will be 0%. This is the homework policy for the 5th grade team and is used in all classrooms.
Your child's grades are entered directly into Skyward. Please double check the online grade and your child's assignments that they will recieve back on Mondays. Should you notice any discrepancies, please don't hesitate to contact me. I would encourage you and your child to check grades weekly so missing assignments may be kept to a minimum.
If your child has missing/late homework, they are expected to stay inside during morning or afternoon recess until the assignment is completed.

45% homework and classwork
Language Arts:
40% writing and projects
30% spelling
30% grammar
Math:
55% tests and quizzes

Social Studies:
40% tests, quizzes, and projects

30% hoemwork and classwork
Absent Work Policy:
If your child will be absent, please contact me and the office. Your child is expected to complete all work they missed while they are absent. This includes notes, in class activities, and homework. I may excuse some work on a case-by-case basis. Students will have the number of days they were gone to complete what they missed before it becomes late.
Example: absent Monday and Wednesday (2 days), return to school Wednesday, have Wednesday and Thursday to complete work (2 days), all missed work due Friday.
If you would like to pick up missed work while your child is absent, I am happy to leave work at door 16! If you do not message me asking to pick up work, I will give your child the work they missed when they return to school.
