What is mastery learning?

Mastery learning gives students (AKA you) who may need more time to review the material, students that had a rough morning, or students that needed just a little more extra help a second chance to present their knowledge. 

What kinds of assignments have mastery learning?

You can only take mastery learning on quizzes and tests. You cannot do mastery learning for writing, speaking, or interpretive (reading) assignments or labs. ***Please be aware that not all quizzes and tests have mastery learning.***

How do you prepare for mastery learning?

Mastery learning offers you the opportunity to master content knowledge and skills by studying on your own time, coming to extra help and reviewing material, making flash cards, creating a graphic organizer, etc.

Will it be the same quiz/test again?

No, but it will be similar! The same content will be covered on the mastery learning version. This is to determine if you have become a true "master" in that content. 

What grade is considered to be "mastery"?

Mastered content is considered to be an 80% or higher. All students are welcome to mastery learning, even if you received 99% and want to reach a higher goal! 

What grade do I get after taking mastery learning?

You will always get the higher grade that you receive, whether that be on your original assessment, or the mastery learning version. 

When can I do mastery learning?

1. There are deadlines to complete the mastery learning assessments. Make sure you are not past the deadline first! 

2. Typically, there are 2 opportunities for to take the mastery learning version: one in the morning, and one in the afternoon.
