What Does Physical Wellness Mean to You?
Ask students to participate by raising their hand and describing what physical wellness means to them
Talk through what physical competency means according to Chickering's theory. Achieving physical competency looks like, "athletic and recreational activities, [paying] attention to wellness, and involvement in artistic and manual activities” (Patton et al., 2016). Some examples can include: exercise routine/schedule, involvement in sports/intramurals, use of recreation center, taking fitness classes, etc.
How Often Are You Using the Recreation Center?
Ask students to participate by raising their hand and keeping it raised based on how often they go to the recreation center (Make sure they know that participation is challenge by choice and they do not need to share if they feel uncomfortable):
0 times a week
1-2 times a week
3-4 times a week
5-6 times a week
