Support ITLS Integration through individual coaching and small group staff training
Encouraged participation in Technology Conferences and out-of district training opportunities. (WEMTA, Brainstorm, Google Summit, and SLATE.)
The district libraries will facilitate the growth of student digital literacy, technology integration, diversity and individual reading experiences.
1. The library program will facilitate the growth of student digital literacy and increased technology integration by incorporating the use of mobile devices within instruction.
Success Criteria and Measurement: (Completion by 2025-2026 school year.) Instruction across all grade levels will include the use of mobile technology (ie- chromebooks and ipads) to enhance current instruction. We will critically evaluate the lessons that are incorporating technology resources, as well as support classroom teachers with implementation of available resources and schedule to see what additional improvements are necessary.
2. The library program will provide staff training/coaching support and the integration of WI Information Technology Literacy Standards through individual coaching and small group training sessions on topics selected by the teaching staff.
Success Criteria and Measurement: Both individual coaching and small group training beginning the summer of the 2024-2025 school year will be provided to staff. Once per year the district staff will be asked to complete a technology/library survey regarding training needs. Success will be measured based on our responsiveness to offering requested training based on the survey results and input from grade level technology meetings. Funding support through TEACH grant, district budget, and school library site budgets.
3. The library program will provide an increased awareness of library services and resources to staff and students.
a.) Promote and utilize library website and navigation of how to select and find resources
Success Criteria and Measurement:
Once per month, students will receive a lesson on how to effectively navigate the digital and print library resources available to them.
4. The library program will seek to enhance the reading culture in each building by creating additional independent reading opportunities for students.

Motivational Programs:
The Accelerated Reader Program will continue at Birnamwood ELMS. The library program will continue to work with Birnamwood ELMS staff to make adjustments to the program to encourage student participation. The end-of-year auction will continue and the library staff will evaluate and update goals for the Lunch in the Library reward for May. In September and May of each school year the library staff and teaching staff will meet to discuss the motivational reading programs and make recommendations to improve the programs while maintaining high standards and challenging goals for the students
Funding resources to support this area of growth is from school library site budgets, Library Fund-21 accounts, Parent Teacher Organization, and donations.
Equipment and digital resource changes will drive future initiatives. The district will continue to update the Digital Citizenship curriculum for students.
