2025 Districts of Distinction: Texas Art Education Association Honors Five Districts
Five local independent school districts have been recognized by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) as 2025 Districts of Distinction, a commendation highlighting their superior visual arts education programs.
The honorees—Edinburg CISD, Harlingen CISD, McAllen ISD, Mission CISD, and Weslaco ISD—are now part of an elite group representing the top 8% of Texas districts for excellence in the arts.
Recognition is based on robust visual arts programs that successfully demonstrate high student involvement, community partnership, engaging field experiences, student exhibitions, and success in competitions.
This marks the sixth consecutive award for Edinburg and McAllen ISDs, and the second for Weslaco ISD. The award ceremony will take place during the TAEA Fall Conference on November 21 in Round Rock.
